Free Credit Reports

Your Hometown Friends. Your Hometown Bank.

Since June 1, 2005, Kentucky residents have been eligible to receive a free annual credit report from each of the three major credit bureaus. We encourage our customers to take advantage of this opportunity and review their credit report once a year.

Remember that the report is free, but the credit bureaus may offer other services for which they will charge you a fee (such as unlimited access to credit reports during the year or access to your credit score). Purchase of any of these additional services is not necessary in order to obtain the report.

Upon denial, a copy of the credit report free of charge can be obtained by following the instructions on the Notice of Adverse Action that your prospective lender provides.

The easiest way to obtain all three reports is by clicking the link below,

            www.annualcreditreport.com

This website is sponsored by all three credit bureaus and will cover the various processes that each of the bureaus required. Keep your personal financial information on hand since they will ask you questions about your borrowing history in order to verify your identity. Once the verification process is completed, the credit report will be available for viewing on your computer.

Each bureau provides toll-free numbers as well:

Trans Union: (877) 322-8228
Experian:       (888) 397-3742
Equifax:         (800) 685-1111
If any incorrect information is found on the report, a dispute with the credit bureau will have to be filed in order to correct it. If the dispute involves a loan with First Federal Savings Bank, please call us and we will work with you to resolve the problem.
